Name: Mitchell Grigerek

What do you do at 900lbs?

Manager. Developer. Intern

What do you do for fun?

I’ve been working hard to get back into old hobbies such as painting, watercolor, drawing. Outside of art I enjoy movies, especially foreign films. I do play video games, when I have the free time for it. Games are even better when you have friends to play with, so when no one is available I tend to gravitate towards movies to entertain myself.

If you didn’t grow up in Dallas, where?

I have either lived or worked in just about every area around Dallas my whole life. Longest time I have ever been away from Dallas was for a year when I attended Memphis College of Art in Tennessee.

Favorite music?

I enjoy a wide variety of music, but lately I have found myself gravitating towards progressive music to help keep my mind amped to do work for both school and work. Outside of progressive, I enjoy classical music, rock, metal, alternative, jazz, and blues.

Where do you hang out in your free time?

Most of my free time is spent hanging out with friends at one of our houses, or when we go out, we like to go to downtown Plano, Deep Ellum, or to Alamo Drafthouse.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?

My wife and I cannot seem to get enough of Hawaii. We are currently planning on going back this May for our fifth wedding anniversary. Aside from Hawaii, we are hoping to make it to Italy, Japan, and other parts of United States.

What is your favorite 900lbs project so far?

I will always have fond memories of my first project at 900lbs for FMC Technologies. It was the first project I was allowed to apply some of my knowledge of creative tools with a little bit of wiggle room to create something special for our customer. My favorite project currently has to be for NCR. The amount of variety in skills used in creating the experience for our customer has been inspiring. Every part of the project has taught me new ways to look at our potential as a company. The project wouldn’t have come together the way it has if it weren’t the amazing talents of the team that is working together to create something special.
