Get To Know 900lbs: Caroline Betts

Name: Caroline Betts

What do you at 900lbs?

I am one of the Marketing Interns. I work with the other interns to manage our website’s content and schedule/produce 900lbs’ social media efforts. Among other things I assist our content developers in Photoshop and other similar programs. As interns, we sort of need to be a jack of all trades, ready to do anything at anytime. Working at 900lbs, just about every day is different, because there is just so much exciting stuff going on all the time.

What do you do for fun?

I really love to watercolor, and I am a big proponent of hiking. Nothing better than finding a new trail and going on an adventure. When I lived in San Diego, one of my favorite trails was on a cliff that would lead down to the beach, and I would always end the hike with a dip in the ocean (my other favorite thing). Also, I am a huge sucker for road trips.

If you didn’t grow up in Dallas, where?

I grew up in San Diego, California, which I think is pretty #chill. But I’ve now spent most of the last three and a half years in Dallas, because I am currently a student at Southern Methodist University in Highland Park.

Favorite Music?

Some of my favorite artists are Frank Ocean, Childish Gambino, John Mayer, and Best Coast.

Where do you hang out in your free time?

HG Supply Co, Barley House, Social House, Henry’s Majestic – I love brunch

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be? What would you do? Why?

I’ve always wanted to go to Croatia – not really sure why though to be completely honest. I’ve already traveled through Europe a few times, spent a few weeks in Italy. From the pictures that I’ve seen, the waterfalls in Croatia look incredible; I would love to hike around there.

Favorite 900lbs project so far?

Too early to tell! However, I have been lucky enough to be able to help the team work on an upcoming project, which has really been a great experience; it has been such a privilege to be given this kind of responsibility as an intern. Unfortunately, the project is kind of under wraps at the moment- but definitely keep an eye out for it in the coming months!
