What do you do at 900lbs?

Interactive Design, Volunteer Guinea Pig

What do you do for fun?

First off, I’m a huge documentary film buff. I will watch practically anything, but the more fringe the film, the better. I also like to spontaneously travel. I’ve only been out of the country once, but I guess you could say I’m still making my rounds through the US while I’m stashing away funds! But really, there’s nothing more liberating than a spontaneous trip to somewhere random with no specific planning. I’m also a frequent visitor at local art museums/galleries and I love live music concerts.

If you didn’t grow up in Dallas, where?

I’m as Texas as BBQ and breakfast tacos, but I’ve lived in few places out-of-state over the years. I’m pretty familiar with New Orleans and the Northern LA/San Joaquin Valley areas.

Favorite music?

Tough one, but Hip-Hop/Rap takes the cake. I always put it like this, OutKast and Kendrick Lamar may have gotten me here, but Sublime and the Red Hot Chili Peppers are taking me home.

Where do you hang out in your free time?

You can catch me in Deep Ellum, Lower Greenville, or even West 7th in Fort Worth occasionally.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?

#156 on my ‘Bucket List’ is to go island hopping in the Pacific and live off of coconuts and seafood.

What is your favorite 900lbs project so far?

I’ve only worked on two projects so far, but my favorite probably has to the AR (Augmented Reality) table exhibit we’re creating for RES/NCR. It’s definitely the most complex thing I’ve worked on so far. It’s so cool to see the different hands and roles that contribute to the overall project. From the animation and video work to the 3-D modeling and development side, you really get a chance to see first-hand how teamwork and creativity can produce something awesome.
